Satel was born in Moscow in 1917, he studied at the Moscow Architecture Institute from 1935-37, in the Art Studio of VTsSPS, Moscow, 1937-38, at the Moscow Art Institute until 1948. Georgi E. Satel was active in Moscow and began exhibiting in 1947. Important shows include All-Union Art exhibition, Moscow, 1949, and 1950. Georgi E. Satel specialised in genre paintings, and portraits.
